TrailKeg Review

The Barrel TrailKeg Lid (as marketed in the Amazon description) fits old style hydroflask and lifeline double wall insulated growlers (which I have). The newer Trailkeg lids (fits new internal threaded HydroFlask Growlers), but are more expensive than the old barrel lids. The new lids are the only TrailKeg lids available on Amazon.   One might still find old barrel lids from TrailKeg by contacting them directly through their website.

The TrailKeg lid that I got for my hydroflask It fits mine perfectly with no CO2 leakage.  It also fits Canteenz and fiftyfifty double insultated growlers, a great plus!!  The lid uses standard ball lock fittings for the liquid-out connection, but the gas-in connection is a quick disconnect made only for their regulator.   You have 2 options for connecting the TrailKeg up to your big CO2 system; 1) Buy their hose that has the quick-disconnect (which I did as I love the quick disconnect regulator when on the road), 2) Buy the TrailKeg Ball Lock Conversion Kit to allow the TrailKeg to be connected to a big CO2 system or to to install a nitro regulator!    The very nice pro about the TrailKeg regulator is that it allows for adjusting the pressure for whatever beer you put into it!  The ability to adjust the pressure on the fly is a big advantage this system has over others.  The other big advantage is that it will fit those existing hydroflask or lifeline growlers that you have already purchased from your local brewery.  That’s a big win, not to mention this system will keep your beer cold for 24 hours!!!   If you don’t have an existing hydroflask/lifeline growler, you can always order the complete package from Amazon using the link below. However, buying the lid only will save you money.
